About
Delicias e Sabores is a free online resource about crochet granny squares. It covers how to make them, what to make with them, and the finishing techniques that turn a pile of squares into something you can use.
What you will find here
- Square patterns written round by round: the classic cluster square, the solid square, sunburst, textured, mitered and flower squares.
- Technique guides on reading patterns, choosing yarn and hook, changing colors, sizing, blocking, weaving in ends, joining and borders.
- Project guides for blankets, bags, cardigans, pillow covers, scarves and coasters made from squares.
If you are new, begin with How to Crochet a Granny Square, then read the guide to reading granny square patterns. The full list of guides is on the Tutorials page.
How the guides are written
Every pattern uses standard US crochet terminology and explains each abbreviation it uses. Rounds are numbered and end with a stitch count so you can check your work as you go. Measurements are given in inches with centimeters in parentheses.
Sizes, yarn amounts and times on this site are estimates. They change with your yarn, your hook and how tightly you crochet, so each guide asks you to make one square and measure it before starting a larger project. The guides do not claim that a pattern has been test-crocheted or independently tested.
The images on this site are generated illustrations made to show the shape, color placement and construction of a square or project. They are drawings, not photographs of finished crochet.
We do not publish invented reviews, ratings or testimonials. The granny square is a traditional technique with no single author; the written instructions here are our own wording of that shared tradition, and we do not reproduce other designers’ patterns.
